Plasma Machine Operator

It is a full time, long term temporary position that could eventually convert to client employee. The right candidate could start right away.

Cuts, trims, or scarfs metal objects with arc-cutting equipment to dimensions, contour, or bevel specified by blueprints, work order, or layout by performing the following duties. Also responsible for maintaining steel inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Positions work pieces onto table or into fixture or with jib or crane.
Selects carbon or metal-coated carbon electrode, gas nozzle, electric current, and gas pressure, according to thickness and type of metal, data on charts, or record of previous runs.
Inserts electrode and gas nozzle into holder and connects hose from holder to compressed gas supply.
Select proper amperage, adjusts jet of gas to blow away molten metal.
Strikes arc and guides electrode along lines to cut (melt) through metal.
Cuts off chips or spurs and burns out cracks and holes.
Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance, adjust s required
Cut metal operating a shear
Operating other machining equipment, CAD programs, Computer Skills

Education and/or experience (required):
HS Diploma or GED, with courses in Industrial Arts, basic computer skills, 2/4 years related experience and/or training preferred.
Experience with PHOENIX cutting software. CAD & CAM software a plus.
Ability to read & comprehend instructions, correspondence, blueprints, etc.
Able to write simple correspondence.
Math skills as required for tasks.
Physically able to perform Essential Duties (standing long periods of time, ability to lift 60 lbs).
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Continue to grow in job knowledge and to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client (metal fabrication manufacturer) is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer in the VRC (Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors) industry to join their team. The engineer would be responsible for carrying out a variety of duties including designing, researching and prototyping new products.

•Designs and modeling mechanical parts for material lifts.

•Responsible for the complete design process, including requirements specification, feasibility studies, cost and scheduling, conceptual and detailed design using CAD systems (Solidworks and or AutoCAD ) detailed drawings, design review presentations, procurement of prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and handoff to manufacturing

•These tasks will require working with other engineering groups and manufacturing personnel to ensure flawless integration of VRC (Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors)

•Develops the required assembly and production of mechanical design

•Works closely with and manages all design requirements are specified and achieved

•Addresses and resolves product issues thru the product phases

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred),

•A minimum of 3 -5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in design, and metal fabrication processes

•Expertise with CAD (Solidworks)

•Needs to have strong communication, organizational and prioritization skills

•Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP software.

• Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards

• Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively

•Attention to detail is a strong plus

•Self-Starter and experience with material lifts design, cables, wires, control boxes
